Our Executives Have Strong Marketing and Technology Backgrounds

Luis Rivera, CEOLuis Rivera, CEO

A seasoned executive, Luis Rivera oversees Lyris Inc.'s rapidly expanding business, which includes the pioneering Lyris HQ integrated marketing suite and the industry-leading ListManager email marketing software. Since assuming the CEO role in early 2007, he has driven the reorganization and rebranding—as Lyris, Inc.—of the former J.L. Halsey and its acquisition of key product lines in recent years. Rivera has more than 15 years of experience in executive management, business development and international sales. He has managed sales and operations in countries throughout the world, including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Germany, Japan and the UK. Rivera began his career at engineering company Multiwave and, after that, was vice president of international sales at CAD software firm IMSI. Before joining Lyris in 2001, he directed international sales at Turbolinux. Rivera graduated from Claremont McKenna College with a bachelor’s degree in government history and economics.

Hedi Mackintosh, CFOHeidi Mackintosh, CFO

Heidi Mackintosh, named CFO in April 2008, brings 15 years of broad industry experience to managing finances for Lyris, Inc. and helping build new business opportunities. Most recently, she was vice president and corporate controller at Benefitstreet Inc., an online provider of financial and benefits management services. Before that, she was the corporate controller at Osisoft Inc., a performance management software company. Additionally, Mackintosh has held senior financial positions at Apple Computer, Polycom, PeopleSoft and Ondisplay. A certified public accountant, she holds a bachelor’s in Business Administration from California State University, Hayward.

Blaine Mathieu, CMOBlaine Mathieu, CMO

Blaine Mathieu is responsible for Lyris’ brand and product strategy, including driving marketing initiatives for the company’s Lyris HQ hosted integrated marketing suite and its award-winning ListManager email marketing software product. Most recently, Mathieu was general manager and vice president of product and marketing at Corel Corp. There, he was responsible for creating global marketing and product strategies for a wide range of software products targeted at consumers, businesses and professionals. Mathieu also held a variety of senior management positions at companies such as Adobe Systems and Gartner Group. He received his MBA from Athabasca University in Canada in 1999, and his bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Alberta in 1989.

Sean Ryan, SVP of EngineeringSean Ryan, SVP of Engineering

Sean Ryan oversees the development of all systems and product engineering at Lyris. Prior to joining the company, Ryan was COO of BookSurge LLC, a print-on-demand and inventory-free distributor of books, where he helped prepare the company for its sale to Amazon.com. Previously he co-founded and served as CTO for ExactTarget where he developed the company's email marketing software product. Before ExactTarget Ryan directed software development for Digital River. He began his career working for a leveraged buy-out company and subsequently spent seven years at Accenture, consulting on business process and technology implementations for Fortune 500 companies. Ryan received his bachelor's of science degree in Entrepreneurial Sciences from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

Brian Bailard, SVP Global SalesBrian Bailard, SVP Global Sales

Brian Bailard, who joined Lyris, Inc. in August of 2008, brings more than 20 years experience to the position of Senior Vice President of Global Sales for Lyris. Prior to driving Lyris’ global sales effort, Brian held the position of vice president of global sales and services at Financial Crossing, a venture-backed software-as-a-service financial technology company. Previously, Brian served in various senior level sales and management positions at a variety of companies including BDNA Corporation, Thomson Reuters, Advent Software, Bain & Company and IBM. Brian holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.

Jason Han, VP of SalesJason Han, VP of Sales

Jason Han brings 15 years of experience to the job of managing the quickly expanding sales of Lyris, Inc. products and online integrated marketing suite. Prior to leading Lyris’ overall sales efforts, Jason was responsible for driving significant growth in Lyris' email marketing product, ListManager. He began his professional career at Netscape in the late 1990s, managed the inside sales team at Turbolinux and served as senior account executive at Siebel Systems. Jason holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from University of California, Berkeley.

Ray Polanco, VP of Client ServicesRay Polanco, VP of Client Services

As vice president of client services, Ray Polanco ensures the customers' experience with Lyris is positive and productive. He has a proven track record in professional services and customer support to develop and manage new service offerings and align Lyris’ services business strategy with the company’s sales model. Polanco joined Lyris from Pinnacle Systems/Avid Technology, where he directed technical services and support. Prior to that, he led the support team at Zhone Technologies and held related positions at Ascend Communications (Lucent Technologies), Madge Networks and IBM. Polanco holds a bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from San Jose State University and holds various technical, leadership and management certificates.

Andrea Scarnecchia, VP of MarketingAndrea Scarnecchia, VP of Marketing

Andrea Scarnecchia, named VP of Marketing in October 2008, brings 17 years of experience to leading and executing Lyris' marketing initiatives. Prior to joining Lyris, Scarnecchia was VP of Product Marketing at Syndero (an online marketing start-up), where she was responsible for brand development and product marketing for a portfolio of products. Previously Scarnecchia held a variety of senior management positions for a diverse range of businesses at companies such as SunBeam, Mattel Interactive, Disney Interactive, Sega of America, Supercuts and The Clorox Company. She has an M.B.A. from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley.
